In July 2024, a High Protein Zinc Seed Distribution and demonstration program took place at Domjhar GP, attracting 42 participants. This initiative focused on motivating Farmers for cultivating rice varieties with high protein (10.1%) and moderately high-level zinc (20ppm) content in polish rice developed by National Rice Research Institute Cuttack. Rice is the main source of calories for billions of people in Asia-Pacific region. It contributes 29% dietary protein for population in the region. but in general, rice is deficient in protein Therefore, a large section of the world population suffers from protein malnutrition. As part of a project to increase farmers income and reduce malnutrition through biofortified crops ,unchin Foundation promoted cultivation of protein rice (CR-Dhan-311) .
