Cluster Level training Awareness Program

Cluster level awareness program was organized on 18th march 2022 at Jhitridhoda of Nuapada district of Odisha for sensitization and promotion of Nutri Rice Cultivation and about the SFRUTI Scheme to the farmers in the area. The project Co-ordinator for the Nuapada Nutri Rice Cluster from Lokodrusti (IA) engaged with the farmers and SPV members, discussing the scheme and its benefit. He provided an introduction to Nutri Rice Cluster and outlined the cultivation process. Additionally, the implementing (Lokodrusti) clarified the roles and responsibilities of the Implementing Agency Technical Agency ,and SPV to both farmers and panchayat Officials .The awareness initiative received a positive response and support from the local farming community .

Inculcation on Poha Production

The cluster is set to conduct a training program titled “Value Addition of Nutri Poha and Entrepreneurship” in May at the Nuapada Nutri Rice Cluster located in Khariar, Nuapada. The primary aim of this initiative is to enhance processing skills by providing both theoretical knowledge and practical training on transforming Nutri Rice into Ready to Eat Nutri Poha.

Advantages of Poha Production Training for Farmers

  • Increased Income Opportunities: Equipping farmers with the skills to produce poha can create an additional revenue stream, allowing them to sell both raw rice and the processed poha. Value-added products typically achieve higher market prices

  • Enhanced Skills and Knowledge: Farmers will acquire practical experience in processing methods, quality assurance, and packaging, thereby improving their overall agricultural capabilities. Understanding nutritional benefits will enable them to market their products more effectively.

  • Access to New Markets: The training will offer insights into market trends and consumer preferences, empowering farmers to effectively target specific markets. This will expand opportunities for local sales and distribution channels.
